Beginner Tips and Techniques to Help You Get the Most from Your
Machine
Bring your serger to this hands-on class! National serging expert
Susan Huxley will lead a 2 1/2 hour session that will help you with
the basics.
You'll learn how to:
create a balanced overlock stitch
rip out serger stitching the fast and easy way
make 2- and 3-thread rolled hems
work with your differential settings
choose the right threads for your serger stitches
make a decorative 3-thread edge finish
Attach an elastic waistband for a quick skirt or boxer shorts
(Afternoon Session, 2-4pm)
Beyond Beginner Serging
Tips and Techniques to Take Your Serging to the Next Level
Think serging is just for finishing seam allowances? Think again!
In this class, national expert Susan Huxley will teach you a grand
array of treatments that you can make on even the most basic serger.
Bring your machine so that you can work alongside Susan as she teaches
you how to use a 3-thread overlock stitch and an all-purpose presser
foot to gather, flatlock, blind hem, blanket stitch; plus make serger
lace and custom trim. Susan will also give tips on a variety of
serger subjects throughout the class and she is bringing along garments
from her wardrobe for you to examine, so prepare to be inspired!
