Southern
Ohio Crochet Guild 2006 Spring Retreat
Susan
always loves when she gets to go out on the road and meet sister-stitchers.
This Spring, the Southern Ohio Crochet Guild invited Susan to teach
at their Crochet Retreat. Throughout the weekend, Susan taught a
number of crochet projects, gave hands-on help to all the attendees,
and even held a fashion show so that everyone could see some of
the garments from More Crocheted Aran Sweaters. Above, Summer displays
her basic bobble stitch panel Susan used as a base for several different
projects, including the darling teddy bear Ellen finished below.

Some
comments from the attendees:
I
enjoyed Susan very much, loved the items she brought to show the
patterns in the book by Jane Peever. The instructions were a little
difficult for me to follow for the bear and was glad to have her
help.
***
I thought Susan had really good instructions and put a lot of thought
into the retreat. I thought she was great! The fashion show was
wonderful... great to see so many great sweaters, vests and different
ideas on changing out things that I may already have.

Invite
Susan to Teach Your Group
Can
you tie a bow? Then you have all the skills and talent necessary
to master the basics of crochet.
Based on the learning module in "Crocheted
Sweaters: Simple Stitches, Great Designs." Susan Huxley
will walk you through the basics of crocheting, from holding the
hook to making the fundamental stitches (chain, slip, single, and
double) and stitch in rounds and rows.
Susan will also show you some of the wonderful garments that you
can make with your new skills. You'll soon be filling your wardrobe
with a glorious array of crocheted sweaters.
This is a hands-on session, with each participant receiving personal
guidance from Susan. Class size is limited to 10 students.
