Following color chart on page 44, work and attach squares as for square 2. Join edges in the sequence shown in the chart, making sure to attach square 13 to top of square 1 and working the joining sc into the corner of square 2 (not square 1) at the intersection of squares 1, 2, and 13.

Rnd 3 (Joining Rnd): Ch 1, sl st in next ch-1 sp, ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 1) in next ch-3 sp, with WS of squares 13 and 14 tog, sc in ch-3 corner of square 13, ch 1, 3 dc in same ch-3 sp of square 14, sc in next ch-1 sp of square 13, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp of square 14, sc in next ch-1 sp of square 13, 3 dc in next corner ch-3 sp of square 14, ch 1, sc in corner ch-3 sp of square 1, ch 1, 3 dc in same corner ch-3 sp of square 14, join next side of square 14 to square 2 as before, making last joining sc into corner of square 3. Complete Rnd 3 as explained for square 2.


Triangle 27

Row 3 (Joining Row): Ch 1, sl st in each of next 3 dc, sl st in next ch-3 sp, [ch 3 (count as dc), 2 dc, ch 1] in same ch-3 sp, and join to squares 26 and 15 in the established manner.
